Yakama Nation Higher Education awards scholarships and grants to students enrolled with the 14 Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation. Students must be pursuing a college degree at a regionally accredited institution.

SUMMER Eligibility Requirements
- Must be an enrolled member of Yakama Nation.
- Must be a student in good standing.
- Must indicate the NEED for continuing study through summer term.
- Meet the minimum Cumulative GPA for the following
- College Freshman/Sophomore/Juniors/Seniors 2.0 GPA
- Graduate/Doctoral/Professional 3.0 GPA
- Applicants must have a completed Financial Needs Analysis on file for Summer 2025 to be eligible for Bureau of Indian Affairs Higher Education Grant ($700), no exceptions to policy. If the FNA is not uploaded with the application, the program will not award the $700.
Deadline for Summer Application Set by Yakama Tribal Council Resolution T-111-13
- May 1, 2025 for Summer - COMPETITIVE (45 scholarships awarded).
If you miss the deadline of MAY 1, your application will be denied.
Applications may be considered for PRE-COLLEGE with a student monthly stipend under the following conditions:
- Pre-College - High School students attending summer academic camps at college or Universities
- Pre-College - Students signing up for Yakama Nation Forestry, Wildlife, or Fisheries summer programs.
- Pre-College - Students attending Heritage University taking summer Bridge.
- Pre-College - Students enrolled in only courses below 100 level.
